EVERYTHING WE DO IS FREE FOR NONPROFITS

We provide nonprofits with a $1,000 unrestricted operational grant to help grow their organization.

Additionally, each recipient will receive 12 months of training and access to a dedicated mentor to further support their growth and development.

Timeline

  • At this time, we don't have a fall date of when the application process will start.

  • All applications are due at 11:59 PM EST on October 25, 2024.

  • Application review will within 30 days after the submission date.

  • Estimated grant announcement 3-4 months after grant cycle closes

Criteria

  • Any size nonprofit that fall within the categories below

  • Must be passionate about what you do within your organization

  • Looking to grow your organization

  • We award grants only to IRS registered 501(c)(3) public charities or public entities serving the people of the United States. You can be supported by a Fiscal Sponsor

Who Should Apply!

If your organization falls within one of these categories below and you are looking to grow your nonprofit, then you would be eligible for our $1,000 grant.

Social services is anything that provides services to assist the overall social well-being of people. The most common are disadvantaged, but any group can apply including single parents or people with disabilities who require extra financial help because they cannot work due illness.

Any organization that helps improve the lives of women and men. This would include: Empowerment Of Women and Men, Supporting Equality, Freeing Families from Violence.

Organizations helping to improve or protect human rights for all regardless of race, sex, nationality, ethnicity, language, religion, or any other status. Human rights include the right to life and liberty, freedom from slavery and torture, freedom of opinion and expression.

Organizations that support and honor veterans for their service in the United State military.

Nonprofits that care for animals. This could include animal shelters, hospitals, and other organizations offering free or reduced services.

Nonprofits that focus on the environmental and climate crisis that doesn't, as it relates not only to the earth's natural resources, conservation, or social justice but also human life.

Arts service organizations that provide programming across one or more of the following artistic fields: creative place-making, dance, design, folk and traditional arts, literary arts, multi- disciplinary arts, music, media arts, theater, and visual arts

Organizations that promote or have informed healthy living, self-help, self-care, fitness, nutrition, diet, and spiritual practices

Health nonprofits provide a myriad of invaluable services to communities. and play a key role in improving access to health services.

Provide social assistance services for children and youth. That provides for the welfare of children in such areas as adoption and foster care, drug prevention, life skills training, and positive social development

The Funding Process for Nonprofits

Video Application

  • Video must be between 5-7 minute video - We want to feel your passion.

  • Applicants answer a set list of questions and must follow specified video guidelines.

  • Nonprofits can share their mission, stories, and plans in a concise and compelling way.

  • Video Guidelines

    • Must answer all 4 questions.

      1. What is the mission and vision of your organization?

      2. What impact are you making?

      3. How would this grant help your organization?

      4. How would use these funds?

    • No Power Points will be accepted.

    • Must be between 5-7 minutes. Please don't make shorter or longer.

    • Does not need to be a professional video. A Phone video or Zoom call is just fine.

Written Application

  • Nonprofit information

  • Most recent 990 that was filed with the IRS or if you are a startup you can provide your Bylaws.

Review

  • NFC staff narrows down applicants for each category to 5 per grant and submits to Grants Committee for review

  • Grants Committee narrows down 5 applicants to 1 per grant and makes recommendation to Board Committee

    • Finalist will be required to submit the following information:

      • Bylaws

      • Last 990

      • Audit (if you receive them)

      • Financial Statement 2022 & 2023

      • Operating budget

      • IRS letter stating you have received your nonprofit status.

      • List of your leadership team

      • List of Board of Directors

  • Board Committee approves grantee

ALL APPLICANT THAT HAVE BEEN APPROVED FOR A GRANT WILL RECEIVE AN AWARD LETTER.

No video will be judged on the quality, we just want to hear your story and the impact that you are making.

By filling out the form you are automatically added as a nonprofit associate unless you opt-out at the bottom of the form.

If you are already a member of The Nonprofit Cooperative, please use your email address associated with your account when filling out the grant application.
Please create a 5-7 minute video answering the following questions. The link to the video can be a Google Drive link, Dropbox link, or a YouTube link (if you wish to upload the video to YouTube). Ensure the link that you provide has the appropriate permissions to be viewed by anyone with the link. You are not graded on the quality of the video. This could be a conversation you are having with another person over Zoom. We are just looking for the passion you have for your organization.
